Polarizing Beamsplitter Assemblies

Prism Polarizers

Birefringent Plates and Beam Displacers

Prism polarizer are manufactured from calcite, magnesium fluoride, and a-BBO. Typical varieties are Glan-Laser, Glan-Thompson, and Rochon, although other materials and varieties are available.

Polarizers can also be made from single pieces of birefringent material whereby beam separation based on polarization is accomplished either by a wedged optic or by the walk-off of one polarization relative to another over the length of the optic.

Polarizing Beamsplitter Assemblies
Fine finishing, advanced thin film deposition techniques, and superior assembly procedures result in high precision polarizing beamsplitter cube (PBS) assemblies by Inrad.
  • Calcite or optical glass prisms
  • High contrast polarizing coatings
  • Broad wavelength coverage
  • Precise dimension and optical path length control
  • Excellent transmitted wavefront
  • Tight tolerance on angles
